Brown duck , one of a pair, seen in Isabella Plantation , Richmond Park , 30 October 2009. What is it ? Ferruginous Duck ? It has the white undertail but neither bird has the yellow eye of the male FD. Hybrid ? With what ? The similarity with the female Pochard has been pointed out. So maybe a Ferruginous x Pochard hybrid , how exotic ! What say you ?
